LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ — In an effort to help individuals and small-business customers affected by the wildfires impacting Southern California, Bank of America today announced a disaster relief program, which includes: special loan options, assistance for existing loan and credit card customers, and a toll-free bilingual telephone number.

Additionally, Bank of America will waive ATM fees for non-customers at more than 200 ATMs in San Diego County, including a new mobile ATM unit that has been set up at the Rancho Bernardo assistance center. In order to maintain cash reserves, ATM cash withdrawals will be limited to $200 per day for non- customers at these ATMs.
The disaster relief program is in addition to a $1 million donation announced yesterday by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to aid first responders and evacuees of the fires in Southern California.
“This is one of most devastating wildfires in the history of our state, and Bank of America is making its full resources available to aid the families, businesses and communities most affected,” said Janet Lamkin, president, Bank of America California. “We will continue to monitor the impact of the fires on our customers, our associates and the Southern California communities to ensure that we are doing everything we can to help.”
Under the company’s disaster relief program, Bank of America customers affected by the wildfires may:
-- Receive emergency credit line increases on their existing credit cards. -- Modify, defer or extend payments on loans, credit cards or lines of credit. -- Access a special Bank of America home equity program that enables them to incur no fees on new loans, obtain a new home equity credit line or increase the credit limit on an existing Bank of America home equity line. -- Purchase a new primary residence through the company's special mortgage program (Bank of America will waive all loan fees and expedite the process). -- Avoid bank withdrawal penalties on time deposits and existing Bank of America Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). -- Small businesses may also qualify for similar benefits on both business and personal loans.
Customers in the impacted counties may apply for assistance under the program through December 9, 2007 in any Bank of America banking center*, or by calling 866-500-5279 to speak with bank associates in English or Spanish. For assistance with credit card accounts, customers should call the phone number on the back of card, but if that is not available may also call the main line noted above.
* Our first mortgage program is not currently available through our banking centers. To obtain additional information regarding this program, please contact the Bank through the toll free number provided.
The offers are subject to credit and collateral approval. Terms and conditions apply. Bank of America, N.A., Equal Housing Lender. Member FDIC. Insurance is required. These offers cannot be used in combination with other offers, and certain restrictions may apply. Tax penalties may still apply to IRA withdrawals before age 59-1/2.
