IIs there an established cutoff date for lenders to quit offering loan modifications? I heard it could stop in December 2009. Is this true? Also, has anyone had any loan modification experiences with Aurora Loan Services? We will be dealing with them.

Moe, I can’t thank you enough, this is the first I have hear of all the work you are doing. You are awesome.
I wanted to make a comment to the last few post, although they were back in May, I am hoping this will help. I gained a lot of experience in foreclosures when I worked for F.D.I.C. as an Asset Manager.
I have now been working as a Real Estate Sales Person for 15 years specializing in Short Sales and REO, and Pre-Foreclosures. This past year I made it my mission to help people out of their pre-foreclosure situation, free or not. I just couldn't stand to watch the lenders take advantage of these folks lack of knowledge in this area anymore.
Here is the deal.....if you are calling the Loss Mitigation Dept, Workout Department or what ever that particular Lender calls it, and you are not getting the response you need.....start crawling up the ladder, ask for their manager, and their manager and so on. Don't worry about getting the person who is trying to help you in trouble. Even though they have been really nice and tried to help, it’s not their fault more than likely. Either they have to large of a work load or have not been properly trained.
This is what I do when I am desperately trying to help a client. Go on Dunn and Bradstreet, Nadac, etc. Run a search on the company, get the name of the CEO, CFO, Pres. and every VP you can find and start emailing every one of them and follow up with a phone call, that’s right, call them. You have the 800 number; just ask for him like he or she is your old buddy. You may think this is drastic, but it works and if you are wondering how you get their email, just go to the company website and search for any email of a employee or loan officer and what ever form there email address is in, the CEO, etc., will be in the same format. For example: John.Doe@BankofAmerican.com
It’ usually that simple.
AND PLEASE MAKE IT A NICE EMAIL, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HE OR SHE HAS HEARD OF YOU AND DONT MAKE IT AN ESSAY.....LIKE MY POSTING (LOL). Just remember, think outside the box. Good luck and God Bless.
P.S. Always save copies of everything you send, make two copies and keep one because you will want to send it again (both fax and mail). Always include your pertinent info on all correspondence such as your Loan number.

homecomings is doing the same to me. is there any way to hold these people accountable? the "obama plan" seems to be all talk but no action. what are they required to do, and who do they report to? i am tired of making call after call and getting no information. they said it would be 10 days after i submitted my worksheet, but after 6 weeks i have no information and i just get rude people telling me to wait by the phone.

I have been struggling to say the least with Homecomings financial for the past 10+ months and am within 2 short weeks of losing my home. I have placed call after call and have recieved nothing but conflicting information from people within Homecomings with regards to what I am or am not qualified for. I would really like a phone number that would help me get something done with Homcomings! I can not afford a for profit modification company. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I have a question - I am not in default, (yet)have current 15 year fixed loan with Chase, but layed off in 2007, and have been underemployed, unable to find suitable FT employment, and am currently eating up my savings. Can I get a loan modification to convert to 30 year fixed to offer some relief?

My payment voucher states Coldwell Banker Mortgage... I'm wondering if they're just the servicer. Would anyone happen to know the number to loss mitigation for them?

Thanks.

Regarding Homecomings Financial/GMAC

IF you are in bankruptcy AND have submitted the attorney authorization to discuss mitigation, the direct phone number to follow up is 800-482-3530. Have your loan number handy so you can know which person to route to. You will get a message to leave your name, account # and a call back number. Can't say yet how long the call back takes-I still haven't gotten the call from them 2 months after my attorney authorization got there.

Karen Benton in Loss Mitigation? The phone number for me to call was listed as 1-866-7163-4784.
If you have seen the movie "My Blue Heaven" with Steve Martin, I simply cannot drop the "1" to make it correct.
