Good afternoon all, well I have been rejected for ayet another loan modification for the 4th time! Let's see: I am in an ARM, My payment is over 31% of my income, single parent, cannot refinance because my house is below market value, don't qualify for the Obama plan because my loan is not FHA backed, & an income reduction. Yet I still DON'T qualify according to Countrywide. I was also told just today that my loan modifications are being rejected instantly now because the INVESTOR is declining my approval. Get this the INVESTOR Deutsche Bank in a foreign bank. This is making this really difficult for me & my family because they do not have to grant me a loan modification. Countrywide still has to obey their terms. Then she tells me to open up my 2 bedroom condo to a roommate. Hello I have children, does she watch the news? I am in a catch 22 with no where to run or turn. My hands are so tied that I don't know what else to do, but to let them have it! Any ideas?

As I sit here on the phone on hold with Countrywide for close to two hours, and simultaneosly researching the internet for names of executives to take my problem to, I found this blog. To set the record straight, what the people are saying who have written before me are stating the truth - they are expressing real pain and it is criminal what Countrywide has done. While there is responsibility and accountability on the part of the home owner, Countrywide is suppose to be a professional organization and should be handling these matters very expeditiously. I have found the personnel on staff to be unknowledgeable about Countrywide's business processes as well as outright lie when providing direction and information. This company is truly a mess when it comes to operations. Each department operates with a silo mentality. Countrywide departments like Home Retention/Loss Mitigation, Loan Modification, and Short Sales have no overlap and in my opinion need to be restructured. If Countrywide had well trained and experienced staff the majority of foreclosures would never happen. If Countryside would expeditiously handle the short sales they have currently many foreclosures and bailouts for banks would not be needed because revenue would start flowing. When a home seller comes to me and tells me they are financially upside down and no way to dig out, then lenders need to act immediately to help and not wait months until they are in default when it is really too late and the owner's credit is ruined. I don't like to see people with real pain mocked nor taken advantage of. Well at the end of this writing and end of my long 2 hour call I have no resolution. I have emailed one of the people from the list above and will have to see if I get a response.

I see the pattern. Countrywide is stalling in helping all of the clients who have tried to find a solution to the problem. I put my house for sale in 2007 and got a contract 1 year later, on March 2008. The buyer walked away because as it was a short sale, Countrywide took forever to give the buyer an answer. Til this day I have lost 4 buyers. Everyday is a different story with Countrywide. They lie saying they didn't receive the contract when we have proof that they did receive it in indeed. Then they mail me a letter saying that they didn't receive the additional paperwork requested when those paperwok wore faxed and e-mailed on the same day of their request. The funny thing is that the last letter they sent me was dated the same day they requested the additional documents. So, it's clear: THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES. THEY WANT TO FORECLOSE ON EVERY POSSIBLE PROPERTY SO THEY CAN MAKE MILLIONS ON PEOPLE'S SUFFERING! I hope to God there will be some justice!!

Wonder how all the folks that posted BASHING Dan Bailey for NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE feel about the fact that taxpayers have had to bail out these corrupt corporations to the tune of BILLIONS? Personally I would MUCH rather help out a fellow taxpaper than a fat ass corporation ANY DAY! And guess what the stock holders on these mortgages gambled just like the folks on the stock market. Now they can try and sell a bunch of foreclosed properties (which the banks who recieved billions of dollars from US taxpayers are not lending) or try and negotiate to keep families in their homes at an affordable rate. PS Thanks to to all you BUSH SUPPORTERS! We are all paying a big price for your stupidity and foresight in electing a dumb shit to run this country!

A lot of people are in dire financial situations to to a combination of factors. In our case that includes a loss of job, and not being able to sell our home. We tried to negotiate with Coutrywide, only to get 15 different answers. We finally hired an autorney, who told us there is no "countrywide" you are talking to, only different departments within Countrywide. He siad those departments have little or no contct with each other. Why is that MY fault? If I call "Countrywide" I assume the person answering the phone is held responsible as a representative for the company? Basically the lawer said they were too big to fight! My question is where are the billions $$$ given to the banks to help people?????

Again here we see replies like Red's above. Everyone else is to blame but the homeowner who took out the loan knowing that they couldn't really afford it but felt like they had a right to own a home. Like Red said, its a dream, and for some thats all it will ever be to own a home. Not everyone is going to own a home that is why we have renters. Some people can't afford a home and that is reality.

Regardless of what you think the housing industry did to entice people, the homeowners were the ones who ultimately signed the loan docs and agreed to pay the mortgage. Now if they did that knowing they were living beyond their means by using a funny money loan well that is their problem. I nor anyone else should be responsible for their bad financial decision.

In fact, from my perspective these foreclosures are just part of the natural progression of people making bad financial decisions and having to live with the consequences.

Plus, this gives people like me a good opportunity to now pick up investment (rental) properties at a low cost. This is no different if someone had racked up a ton of credit card debit and could not affort it..just because its a mortgage its the same thing.
