The candidates have been scurrying to obtain support from the American consumer. AKA, The American worker, blue collar folks or Homeowner Joe.
In their attempts to connect, are they just showing how disconnected they really are?
The guy suffering in the street is someone that all presidential candidates are out of touch with. How can any of the candidates relate to what people are going through? How can they relate to a man who is losing his home, maybe his wife and quite possible his family and job?
They can’t!
To be honest, it’s all political lip service. But, something that has been done by presidential candidiates since the beginning of the glorious United States of America. So, we must all bite our lips and listen and read. Watch and learn who “really” has our backs.
It’s hard to be convinced that our future President will have our backs when their campaign buckets are filled with gold from the very corporations that have massively contributed to Joe’s demise and quite possible our economy.
But, they will still “try” and connect with the people on the street. Main Street that is. However, they will always remain at arms length from the problems. Addressing us, the people, in their eloquently prepared speeches, but never really addressing a solution and then following through with it.
Will Obama “really” bring change to Homeowner Joe or is it all just eloquently prepared “change” speeches that have our nation hypnotized?
Barack Obama criticized Republican rival John McCain on two tracks Tuesday, linking him to the policies of the Bush administration and deriding his economic proposals as proof that he is “out of touch with the struggles of working people.”
Later, talking to supporters here at the College of Southern Nevada, Obama returned to the theme, noting that McCain said early in the campaign that “economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should have.”
In addition, he accused McCain in an economic speech last week of ignoring the mortgage crisis.
Obama also mocked the Arizona senator over a private fundraiser Tuesday featuring President Bush.
“No cameras. No reporters. And we all know why,” he said. “Sen. McCain doesn’t want to be seen, hat in hand, with the president whose failed policies he promises to continue for another four years.”
I find it quite odd that people are losing their homes every day. Americans suffering as a result of a product (mortgage) that has been “proven” to be defective and toxic. Yet, we still have these weak proposals and speeches to address the “reality” of what Americans are going through.
McCain:
McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said the candidate previously had proposed a solution to the mortgage crisis and on Tuesday launched ads in swing states “highlighting his intentions to fight foreclosures.”
“That didn’t stop Barack Obama from making a misinformed political attack,” Bounds said. “When Barack Obama’s best ideas include nearly $50 billion of taxpayer money with no guarantee that it won’t end up in the hands of speculators, and tax hikes on small businesses that provide the paying jobs Americans need, it’s clear that he just isn’t ready to lead our economy.”
Clinton:
Clinton, at an evening rally in Billings, Mont., also cited McCain — but it largely was to argue that she would be the stronger Democratic candidate against him.
The New York senator acknowledged Obama’s “deep base of support here” but otherwise spoke of her opponent obliquely.
“I know that in this campaign there has been a lot of beautiful rhetoric and excitement,” Clinton said, adding that she had “run a campaign focused on solutions.”
Clinton also lashed out at “the failed policies of this Republican administration” and added that “it’s been a long time since the economy has stuttered and sputtered so much.”
Yes, Obama, McCain is out of touch, Hillary is out of touch and you seriously need to take a long look in the mirror because you are also out of touch.
MORE needs to be done NOW, not later!

I am an independent voter not associated with either party anymore. I usually like to vote for the candidate which I feel will do the best for my country, my state, my family no matter what their party affiliation is.
I go with gut instincts after hearing them speak, reading the columns, news etc…. but they ( TV, newspapers etc) only report what they want you to know …… I think it has become a political zoo.
it is scary the way politics has become a popularity contest vs an issues & results contest. I will not discrimate, nor pass judgement on gender nor race .. just open minded to each beliefs, I respect others opinions even if they are different than mine.
I am not happy with this Bush administration at all, & do not want a repeat with McCain (don’t fool yourselves he is another Bush)… so we need to then chose the best of the worst that is left. Who do we chose?
lets face it Presidents are puppets used by the administration, house, senate & the guys & gals behind the scenes…
How about MOE for Pres. atleast he tells it like it is…
I just wish we had a President with a true pair of balls {or ovaries} or whatever - to stand up, take charge, tell the people exactly like it is - I for one am one of those people that prefer the truth even if it hurts, than BullShit to keep me content & strung along…. i can handle the truth better, digest it & move on, rather than find out i have been lied to manipulated etc. that is a lot harder to deal with .. That is Why I am so sick of CountryWide bank & Their BullS**t - and the gov’t, and high gas prices because of this war and the list goes on & on & on…. so which prospective future President will be best for us, the American People?
If we can’t even take cares of the problems at home (meaning the USA), how can we possibly try to fix anyone elses?
So what do we do ? us Average working class Americans ?
We stand up, we unite and we find solutions - we bang on doors, make phone calls, write letters - Whatever It takes to get our voices heard. We are NOT happy & we need solutions NOW !!!!!!
loanworkout.org has allowed my voice to be heard along with others. I know I am not alone !
Again - we need SOLUTIONS not more BS to the problems already existing…
