Loan modifications are the talk of the town and a new service sector of business that is quickly getting a bad name for the few and the proud. When I see ads like the one below hit my Google alert inbox, I just say, “Holy $h@ It’s some of the same ole slimy mortgage brokers just reincarnated has home saving angels.”
Please don’t get me wrong. There are definitely ethical and good intentioned loan modification firms out there that are operating above the foreclosure board. But the problem is that some of these slimy guys are quickly drowning out the good guys. These type of ads with hundred thousand dolllar cars got us where we are at in the first place.
I believe that any firm or anyone doing loan modifications or any type of loan workout out of pure greed will be found out sooner or later. Many will suffer from a life of bad Karma. Others will be prosecuted.
If you are in the business of helping people for a living, it has to be from the heart first in order for it not to be operated in a deceptive manner. Isn’t greed how America got in this economic position in the first place?
Compassion HAS to come before the pocket book, regardless of how broke you are.
If you are in this business and its only for the money, then you are nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing and the AG is your Shepard.

Kapeesh? Then I’ll go at his orange arse with hot tweezers and candle wax until he takes another $100k off your mortgage!”
( FYI – Not an actual real life loan modification scenario. But one could only imagine…)
