I lost my job a year ago, I am disabled. I have crisis and circumstances that create stress just like millions of Americans. The government is trying to help but are they doing it the right way??? Instead of giving the mortgage companies so much power over the consumer who is already stressed and depressed with the circumstances why is not each consumer being worked with with a government representative involved. I need a loan modification but my fate still lies in the hands of my lender.

I have tried three times in just one week to work with my lender over the phone about a loan modification and because of the attitude they have or the conditions they express are necessary and still I will not be guaranteed a loan modification even when I meet the criteria just because the final decision is in the hands of the lender.

Who helps me? Who makes sure that the lender does for me what they are suppose to do for me to get my loan modification? Who makes sure they don't make me fax or overnight paperwork I have sent or faxed twice and I am told they did not get it. I am in trouble money wise and I need answers soon not in 4 months but soon. It costs me $20 to $35 to fax or overnight this stuff to them due to the size of the amount of paper involved. Pretty soon I have $100 invested in sending paperwork they should already have and be working on.

I shouldn't feel threatened or intimidated by trying to do this modification and still in the end they can still tell me NO if they choose.

Hey big brother come in and help the little guy who is already only hanging by a thread to sanity and a roof over my head tomorrow.

Finally! It just pains me to know that in fragile times such as now, people still have the guts to scam those who need the most help. I hope the government gets to the bottom of this... It's high time!
