Q. Does anyone Know if the Website helpforhomeowners.org is a safe site to deal with for an FHA Streamline Loan?? They call themselves HOPE and I have talked to them about an FHA Streamline Loan..They said its a 2 week process and they send someone to our home for closing and mentioned something about one month mortgage payment up front and then we would have 2 months of no payments but we would discuss it later..I am feeling like maybe it may be a scam..can anyone tell me???

OK, this is the typical bait and switch website that I see ALL the time.

The first red flag that this is may be a scam is that there really is no name for the company. They have the domain/website, helpforhomeowners.org, but there is no actual company named on the website.
The second red flag is the contact page. NO address signals that they are operating from their kitchen table or they just don’t want anyone to find them. There is no transparency and no facts for you to investigate these guys further.
There is no about us page that explains who the company is, who is the owner, what qualifications do they have? Nothing!
I recommend you tell these creeps to get lost and try a non-profit like www.NACA.com, www.995Hope.org or a licensed attorney in your state that has a track record with loan modifications.
No! they are not safe! they are being sued by the FEDERAL TRADE COMISSION!!
