HOMELAND SUPPORT SERVICES, FINANCE ADMINISTRATORSIt looks like this company is operating under several names like Homeland Support Services and Finance Administrators. Many scams do this to confuse consumers and avoid prosecution. Is this company doing the same thing?

This homeowner alert will work in tandem with my most recent post on the Prodigy Law Groupand attorney Steve Heyman.

Here are the known websites, affiliations and rippoff reports that I found on the internet. I could not locate a business license, the owners or anything that would say that this company is legit. There is NO transparency and that should be the red flag to run from these creeps if they call you!

Company does processingAuthor: Jordan Date: 2009-06-26 04:16:35

Company processes client and then passes them on to a lawyer. Email does not seem to work.

As mentioned in my previous post, “Don’t do business with any business that cold calls you on the phone!”

Soliciting people over the phone is the most common tactic used by these shady loan modification scams to fly below the regulatory radar and take your hard earned cash. Many of these scammers use sophisticated autodialers, purchases your phone number from phone list brokers and hire ex-mortgage and used car salesman to sell you on whatever scam it is this week.

It looks like this company is operating under several names like Homeland Support Services and Finance Administrators. Many scams do this to confuse consumers and one name may receive complaints online or with the Better Business Bureaus, so they just do a quick name change and business goes on as usual.

Since all business is taken in only via high pressure direct selling over the phone, changing the company name is like changing brands of  2 ply toilet paper and does nothing to hamper their bottoms, oops, I mean bottom line. ;)

OK, this is simple folks, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE WHO COLD CALLS YOU ON THE PHONE! Got it? GOOD!

From CNBC:

It was Courtney from “Finance Administrators,” a company that she said helps consumers get lower mortgage rates. She said she might be able to “drastically reduce my interest rate without having to refinance.” Who wouldn’t want to do that? I asked her to tell me more.

Courtney put me on hold. Then, Rick came on the line. Courtney introduced us, saying that I had a mortgage with a rate of 6 percent. Then she hung up and let Rick and I hash out the details. (Neither Courtney nor Rick would tell me how they got my phone number.)

Prodigy works closely with a firm named Homeland Support Services, which says it takes inbound calls from consumers looking to refinance their mortgages. The two companies share the same address in Irvine.

I likes this comment on the CNBC Blog:

I receive 1 or 2 phone calls a day about refinancing my mortgage, lowering my debt, etc… (they have recently started calling my govt phone on base). One of the things I will never do, no matter how good it sounds, is purchase services from someone who is cold calling me (If I’m in the mood, I’ll mess with them too).

For those that get caught up in it and taken advantage of, my sympathies, but you should have known better.(If it sounds too god to be true, it probably is.) For those that are taking advantage of people in this way, I’m sure you will get your comeuppance.

I understand that it is important to check the background of the loan modification consultant you are dealing with. If you have the trust then it is easier to help you in the modification process.
