My marriage is on the rocks & I may lose my home because of Chase Mortgage

Another homeowner story: I do not even know where to begin with my story. I have been going through with this loan modification with Chase since January 2009. I have been given the run around , lied to, put on hold, loss $1800.00 with a scandal loan mod. company, and currently still on hold with no communication.

I am behind approx. 4 months. I have been making payments monthly and Chase has been accepting it. My husband and I ran into a very bad medical problem with his other. She is very very ill and has no medical coverage. We sent Chase the hardship letter with the proof of the medical bills we had to pay at the time.

All we are asking is for them to put the outstanding areas on the back of our mortgage and if possible reduce our interest rate. We sent them our documents 3 times. They stated that I did not qualify for the MHA loan but were gonna try to see if they could give me the Chase Mod. loan.

Three weeks ago I received a forbearance letter from Chase with a so called agreement. The agreement was for me to make payments of over $4250.00 per month ( doubled my current mortgage payments) for 4 months then I guess they would try to lower my payments. Not only did I not ask for a forbearance, but I could never afford these payments. This is outrageous!!!

If I could afford this amount per month, I would have never been 4 months behind. I have been dealing with the Chase Escalation Dept. and the young lady that I am dealing with also thought that this offer had to be an error. There is no way on earth that I could afford this. I faxed over my worksheet with all of my debt vs my assets, a copy of my pay stub as well as my bank statement ( now for the 4th time) .

I had the women in the Escalation Dept. (1-888-310-7995) email (I guess scan) my documents back to the Underwriting Dept. I then received a letter from Chase requesting documents from me again and stated that I might be eligible for a loan modification.

Duh!!!

This is what I have been requesting since January 2009. I have been getting the runaround, answering machines after answering machines, and it has cause me and my family so much stress. You cannot imagine what this is doing to my marriage. I am still waiting, scared, confused, and my marriage is on the rocks. Chase does not understand ( or probably does not care) what they are doing to people. The Underwriters cannot be reached, the Escalation Department is limited on what they can do.

I need help. I cannot afford to hire someone else to take my money again like the loan modification company I used in West Palm Beach.

I pray daily that I would get my loan modification.

My husband said ( out of anger, I hope) that if this loan mod. does not goe through he is out of here. We live daily waiting for the FED EX letter from Chase saying that they have put us in foreclosure. I hate what Chase has done to us. They do not reply back. I have the Escalations e-mail address and I email them at least twice a week but to know avail. I tried calling the executive Office in N.Y. but they just transferred me back to the Chase Loan Modification Dept.

Please somebody get me off of the Merry-go-round, I am so dizzy.

    Hello,
    Here are some options:
    1. Be persistant and call everyday til you get to a manager.

    2. Contact Fair Housing in your local area, they have a division that assists homeowners that are facing foreclosure. They also have attorneys that work pro-bono that specialize in this arena.

    Hope this information is helpful!

pull the title and see who the lien holder is, i am betting its Mers Corp, and if so you should see an attorney right away. Most of the loans written in the last 7 years are security back by Mers Corp. Google “will mers be brought to justice” happy reading.

Chase is one of the worst companies ever. I worked for them and couldn’t take it anymore…they have to be the most non-caring people at that company, especially at the top. When they took over for WAMU, customer service went out the door. They are a typical East Coast company that is very smug, could careless about it’s customers much less there employees. All they care about is the true bottom line and they don’t care who they have to step on to get there…If WAMU could have only held out for a few more weeks, they would have gotten TARP money, but it seems rather strange that the Chase buyout was so timely. I wish I could give you some positive news for your loan mod, but You might be better off looking for new housing arrangements and looking to rebuild your credit. Talk to a professional who knows the law and what your worst outcome could be. Good Luck & God Bless

I’ve been dealing with Chase also, I have sent Doc now going on 6 times. I finished MHA trial mod. Chase finally called me told me I again had to do more paperwork to continue. What a joke, and misleading idiots. They have no clue on loan mods and just keep changing the guidelines now they say the system is flawed and people who qualified before do not now. I think investors and banks want to foreclose on us and then when real estate starts bouncing back which it will they own all the homes and again rich rich rich. it works always in there favor. They are not going to do loan mods unless it benefits them. Thank God our tax dollars were there to help them out. They get help and they bounce back we need help and we have to jump thru hoops and get turned down. Write to obama and tell him he needs to have banks buckle down and start writing up loan mods. I write him several times a week/ I doubt if they really care or listen but at least I feel better knowing I put my 2 cents in. good luck to you all. we need it.

Chase is so unorganized, they have no idea whats going on. We have been going back and forth with them also. They told us that we didnt make enough to make the payments with a mod, when we make the same as we did before we got the loan… Hmmm how did we get accepted for the loan in the first place then? Someone must have told a lie to get us through then… After many calls to Chase they finally said oh your approved for a forbearance of $750.00 a month for 3 months trial. Sounded great until we found out it was the collections dept. trying to get money out of us by lying… So back to square one. Chase doesn’t know what dept to put you too, they can’t find any paperwork you send in. We overnighted all our paperwork in for $50 bucks and they have no clue were its at. It has gotten so bad that we are about to give up and look for an apartment. Now we know who to avoid when it comes to any financial choices… STAY AWAY FROM CHASE….. unless your Theodore K…

My recommendation is to align yourself with an attorney or loan modification company that will start the process with a qualified written request (QWR). This essentially puts your lender on notice that you are not alone.

Done properly, your lender will have to share with you all of the documents that they have in your record in a legible format. If you start to get BS like you stated above, this seems like a forensic audit should be conducted. If you never qualified for the mortgage to begin with, then this is your leverage to drive the modification home but you must conduct your interaction with your lender on a very formal basis.

    To your success!
