The Williams Law Center is looking for more brokers – Cons still in business?

williams law centerYes, you read the title of this post correctly.

This is how these rogue attorneys and brokers are marketing on the internet. I found this advertisement on a popular mortgage broker forum and it looks like they are aggressively looking for ambulance chasers to bring them business.

I even located (after only 10 minutes of research) that the FTC under Operation Loan Lies and the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) had issued one of the owners, Paul Rossow, (who is a licensed real estate salesperson) a cease and desist order on 4/19/2009 for another company he was operating with his partner in loan mod slime, James Mowrer.

The company that was issued a cease and desist by the DRE in April was Nationwide Loan Modification Services. In July, the FTC named Paul Rosow and Nationwide Loan Modification Services on the Operation Loan Lies list.

Here is the cease and desist against Paul Morrow and Nationwide from the CA Dre and the FTC PDF.

Desist and Refrain Orders and/or Accusations for Loan Modification Activities

The following persons and entities have been served with a Desist and Refrain Order and/or Accusation by the Department of Real Estate resulting from a loan modification and/or foreclosure rescue transaction. In some instances, the person or entity has been ordered to stop providing loan modification and/or foreclosure rescue services because the person or entity is not licensed by the Department of Real Estate. In other instances, the person or entity has been ordered to stop collecting advance fees. Before considering engaging the services of any of the persons or entities listed below, it would be prudent to inquire about the disposition of the action that has been filed against the respondent. Further information regarding any administrative action may be obtained through the Sacramento Office at (916) 227-0906.

He did have a licnese but let it expire in 2004.

http://www2.dre.ca.gov/PublicASP/pplinfo.asp?License_id=01205240

This appears to be a clever scam because there seems to be no websites, lawyers or even brokers to research or track. I also could not locate this law firm on the California State BAR website because there IS NO law firm folks. http://members.calbar.ca.gov/search/member.aspx but I did find an address and phone number.

However, it looks like these guys have already changed the name of their company to elude consumer complaints and possibly the authorities. Just a few months ago this loan mod firm was named ACS Services and Nationwide Loan Modification Services. Also, it appears that there is no lawyer, law firm or even a mortgage broker in charge.

This company is as SCARY as they come when it comes to loan mo0d creepiness and if I was a homeowner, I would run from these creeps as fast as you CAN!

It looks like this James Mowrer is a member of the Costa Mesa Chamber under ACS. But he is not a member of anything else and last time I checked, being a member of the Chamber does not qualify you to operate a loan modification firm.

I LOVE MOE. YOU DA MAN BRO!!!!

I DONT KNOW WILLIAMS LAW CENTER AND HAVE NEVER SEEN HOW THEY DO BUSINESS BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT IT IS PROBABLY NOT TRUE. GOOD LUCK…

  2. Rick says:

I have personally done business with James and WLC.
I have found them to be the most honest and out right Processing center out there! I have searched for months interviewing many pc in & out of states and the WLC is the real deal. It sounds like moe has a personal ax to grind. Your article is misleading if not a bold lie!

  3. Rick says:

It sounds like Moe has a personal ax to grind w/WLC. Unfortunately for moe it makes you look bad to call yourself a humanitarian and mislead people with your articles. I have done business with James & WLC only to find they are the most honest and give the results my clients have been asking for. Moe You look like a liar when you go after honest people.

  4. Moe Bedard says:

    You are joking right?

He is calling himself or his business a law center. That is misleading.

  5. Mike Mc says:

The WLC has done a better job than any firm I have seen. I too was shocked by the FTC list. When I questioned them about it they were upfront about the mistake and now carry on a law firm with a fully licensed attorney, Jennifer Williams. I was also told to consider the source. I was told to Google “Moe Bedard Felon” and see what came up. I did. There were no more questions after that. WLC has never, yet, dropped the ball let alone “scammed” anything. They have gotten more results than any other law firm/Processing Center I have seen. If they were rouge the Cal Bar would shut them down in a hot second.

  6. Sour Grapes says:

Look at the FTC and DRE links. They do not reflect what author says.

  7. Moe is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Paul Rosow and The Williams Law Center have failed to execute their promised services of loan modification processing on behalf of my client. I signed up to be an “affiliate” of Paul Rosow’s at the Williams Law Center, and gave him one client to try out their service. The agreement calls for Williams Law Center to process the loan modification requests of my clients with their respective Lenders. After a rocky start simply gathering the required documents for submission to Bank of America, they ceased communications with my client, will not return any calls or e-mails to provide the status of their work with BofA, and have completelty left all parties hanging. This includes their “Processor”, Crystal Laverde (crystal.laverde@williamslawcenter.org), who was in charge of my client’s case. In the case of this fraud, Paul Rosow (paul.rosow@williamslawcenter.com) will be pursued through all legal and regulatory channels and Williams Law Center will have complaints filed with the State Bar and likely civil filings in District Court. Damages will be those created by their tortuous misrepresentation, which have caused losses to the Borrower and “affiliate” broker. Needless to say, the damage this is causing with my client over the matter is tremendous and irrecoverable.

Mr. Paul Rosow, this will be the beginning of a long and persistent publication in various blogs about your performance. While we’re at it, we’ll make sure to drag your associates along the way and see if they wish to embrace your methodology. Good luck on your new business reputation.

Paul Rosow, Jennifer Williams, Attorney, and The Williams Law Center are fraudsters. When you go to http://www.williamslawcenter.org, just know that you are unlikely to receive the capable services of an attorney. In our case, we were promised legal review by Jennifer Williams, end-to-end processing of a loan modification request, and final legal review of completed loan modification paperwork by Jennifer Williams. After a brief and frustrating period of time gathering the initial documents, their service completely ended.

Legal Action: We will join with our client in bringing state regulatory complaints to the California Bar Association, the State Attorney General, and the Mortgage Lending Division / Department of Real Estate to seek fines and penalties against Paul Rosow and The Williams Law Center for their abusive practices. It is an atrocity that during such difficult times, Paul Rosow and Jennifer Williams, Attorney at Law, would treat people so terribly. We are happy to join any other victims or complainants against these two.

This will post on 3 more blogs tonight. We are excited that our full-time blogger will be adding this assignment to her regular duties. Hopefully, this means that others affected by Paul Rosow and Jennifer Williams, Attorney at Law will join in this fight, as we post this story around the world in blog-spots known to get picked up by Google and Yahoo search.

Paul Rosow and Jennifer Williams, Attorney at Law…was it worth it to pocket $750 times all of the Borrowers you fucked, and perform no meaningful services for Borrowers like my client? Will it be worth the Long-Term or permanent damage to your personal brand and trade name over these funds? We hope to make you famous for these acts.

  8. Tan says:

I hired the Williams Law Center to process my modifications. They got both my houses approved with terms I can easily afford. On my rental house, i can now make money on that hosue and for my primary, i can now live comfortably. The files took about 5-6 months but in the end i was 100% satisfied with the efforts and dedication on my file. I was working with a guy named Sean. Sean was upfront and honest. He seemed to really care about our case. I have sent him a large amount of referrals and I will continue to do so. I googled searched Moe Bedard to look into this before hiring them and sure enough Moe Bedard was a crook with thousands of counts aginst him.

I want to set the record straight, the Williams Law Center is a company i will refer my entire families houses to and I would not be worried one bit. Thanks and I appreciate everything the Williams Law Center has done for me and my family.

  9. Kyle Janson says:

I find it hard to believe that there is negative comments about Williams. I have referred 2 family members and 3 friends to them. My loan was modified by Williams in August of 2009. My friends and family members have all received modifications as well and everyone is happy. I paid the attorney 3 grand. it took 2 months and my payment is 800 less than what it was. i am happy. Too everyone out there that is trying to go through their bank but getting no where.. One word of advice… Get an attorney. Williams worked for me.

  10. David G says:

My house was due to sell tomorrow at 10am. I contacted the Williams Law Center. I gave them all my paperwork on Tuesday. I did this know I had a sale date coming in a few days which terrified me . I am only 25 years old and i didn’t want to lose my house. This is my first house and hopefully last house. I have two loans with Litton Loan Servicing. The Williams Law Center was able to delay my sale date today and it was pushed back to 03/18/10. This will give me time to hopefully get approved. I lost my job. This will give me time to get my life in order. I lost some rental income. I lost alot of things i care dearly about in my life. It was all a snow ball effect. Now, I haven’t been approved yet but the feeling i have right now can’t be put into words so I can just say thank you. Thank you Sean Meador! Thank you Litton Loan Servicing! Thank you Williams Law Center!

  11. Sheila says:

OMG, thank you so much for this information. I can attest to the fact that these slimebuckets are still in business and still taking advantage of consumers. I am one of them. They are doing business under the name The Williams Law Center. Stay as far away from them as possible. They are the sleaziest group of individuals I have ever encountered. I made sure to file a complaint against them with the BBB, the Attorney Generals Office, and the California State Bar. Add Jennifer Williams Esq. to the list of sleazy people at this “so called” company. To you people that say you actually received good service and a loan modification from them. Congratulations! That was definately not the case in my situation. I experienced exactly the same thing as the “broker” for them experienced. Lack of communication, follow-up, and a joke of a money back guarantee. They still haven’t returned my money. Oh, and they got me for $1,800. They should not be allowed to just keep changing the name of the company to skirt the law. Keep on blogging!!!!

  12. what the !@#$ says:

I don’t know if they are a good company, but it seems if their employees are good at blogging and acting as customers.

  13. Lori says:

Interesting article. However I have done business with this company and used Sean as well. Sean got back to me immediately at every turn. Not only did they save my clients home they saved his business as every penny was being used to pay the bank till they took over. The family took my family out for dinner last week to celebrate. I know the “brokers” who are the “middlemen” that use these guys are slim buckets, but you can’t associate the broker who mediates the transactions with the actual legal company. This is what this sounds like to me. The money went to the broker and your client or individual was stiffed by the broker, not the law company.

  14. Sheila says:

Oh Lori, I would love to get their phone number if you have it since I received a judgement against them in court a few weeks ago. I DID NOT USE A BROKER!!! I was dealing directly with The Williams Law Center. It’s good to know that they are still around and collecting money since they owe me!! Thanks for the info.

  15. miguel guadalupe says:

i woulu like to be one of processor brokers for i used to have a mortgage co. and i closed it about three yrs ago . i have a lot of customers that would like loan mod. for a fee i woul lioke to be one of proccesor-brokers. thank you

  16. Lori says:

Sheila…my email is lgileno@hotmail.com. Please email me. Anyone else out there who has been scammed by these people (WILLIAMS LAW CENTER) or by Assured Loan Modifications, ACS Services corp, CA which are all associated, email me as well.
Sean apparently has left the company and the clients and upset agents are piling up. All phone #’s are disconnected and I have been tracking this for months. I will be handing this over to the proper authorities shortly. If you have a judgment that would be fantastic evidence of fraud. The #’s I have are 888.366.2375 ( which no one answers) & 800.851.3966 ALM, they are all one company working together so don’t be fooled.

  17. Sara says:

These people are awful. My sister has been working with them for a year and has now finally realized she was scammed ($1500.00) She called her bank and was told that she is now in foreclosure when all this time she thought the WLC was working on herMod. The bank told her that they tried on numerous attempts to contact the WLC to discuss the mod and now the bank is fed up after one year of practically no contact and are telling her they are getting ready to foreclose. These people are devious crooks. Do not believe the positive posts they are just hired bloggers!

  18. Sara says:

Also, they are now NCS processing

  19. Oh boy..... says:

I referred 28 files to Sean. He saved 22 of the houses already since June 09. 1 house did sell which was a mistake by the processing team at Williams Law Center but they credited my file for that one. 2 files were declined which we did a short sale on instead since they were rentals. The other 3 files are still in process with Jennifer Williams. They are 100% still in business. They are working under the NCS blanket. The addresss is somewhere in Lake Forest. The company who took over their headaches is New Century Solutions. They didnt know what they were getting themselves involved in. I wish Sean was able to stay. I still talk with him reguraly. He was a great guy who knew the numbers to how to get these to meet the guidelines. I was told that Williams wasn’t paying the employees. These employees were working for a few months without getting any money so its not the employees’ fault. I know for a fact that Sean, Liz & Angie all worked for a few months for free. They all moved on since they needed to make money. I think everyone can have their own opinion about this. Everyones experience is based on the result. I wanted to add my few comments. I wish everyone the best with their houses. Hopefully Jennifer or the other owner guy (i forget his name) will make things right.

  20. Bunch of Liars says:

Williams Law Center has several outstanding unpaid “court” awarded judgments against them currently. They are pretending to be out of business but the “trail” of deceit is still prevalent. The people they are associated with ASSURED LOAN MODS are bogus as well and haven’t PAID their bills either…Interesting how they keep moving, change names and opening “NEW” companies….BEWARE!!!

  21. Maggie says:

We had a horrible experience with Williams Law firm and NCS processing. We paid $6000. We could never get the law firm to return our calls, then the file was turned over to NCS and the nightmare worsened. NCS mangled the file … one month they told us we were close to getting the loan mod and we’d be making trial payments. The next month, NCS said the lender was foreclosing the house in 5 days. On the rare occasions in which we heard from anyone, it always an impersonal email from a different processor each time. We don’t know what to do, how to get our money back … any suggestions? These groups are definitely scam artists.

  22. Catherine R says:

Same company, new name — now Williams LITIGATION Center, claims to have no connection to the original Williams Law Center, both just coincidentally had attorneys named Jennifer Y. Williams who went to the same universities at the same time. Jennifer has a cell phone — she actually called me from it by accident but asked for the wrong person — 213-924-9699. The company’s new Web site is http://wlchelp.com/

Their partner organization, which funnels clients to them by pretending to be a government organization, is the National Mortgage Help Center. I shudder to think how many elderly people have lost their homes because of these “entrepreneurs.”

Good luck getting anything out of this company besides lies.

  23. Wild Buck says:

This is for all the people that have got involved with The Williams Law Center. Or Nationwide loan Modification Services . You might want to contact the Better Business Bureau, The State Attorney General’s Office The Federal Trade Commission,
Department of Real Estate & The FBI’s loan Modification Scam Div. These Companies seem to be one of the same The Latest company to emerge is New Century Solutions Processing Services 25391

  24. William Heebsh says:

I just got ripped off by the Williams Law center too. They took my money and now will not return any e-mails or phone calls. These low lifes prey on people when they need help the most. I would love to hear from anyone else who has filed suit against them or have had any luck getting there money back from them.

  25. Jared says:

Sean is my brother and has done everything the way it should be done legally and properly. so back off love ya bro

  26. Dorothy Dean says:

The Williams Law Center with attorney Jennifer Yvonne Williams is, as of two months ago, still in “business”. They scammed one of my clients and now I have the State Department of Finiancial Institutions dealing with them. I have a letter which guarantees Attorney Williams will handle my client’s case. It’s time to file a complaint with the State Bar of California against Williams.
This company has been in violation of California law since October 11, 2009 when the law went into effect. The law prohibits anyone including an attorney from taking money before doing any loan modification (or related) work.
California citations for the law referred to as SB 94 signed by Gov. Schwartzenegger October 11, 2009.
The law went into effect upon signing by the governor.
section 10085.6 of the California Business and Professions Code
section 2944.7 of the California Civil Code
Since they are knowingly breaking the law, would you really want to do business with them. And I agree, employees trying to sound like clients of the company don’t fool anyone at all.
