WL Ross Names FHFA Director Lockhart as Vice Chairman

Aug. 19 (Bloomberg) — Invesco Ltd.’s WL Ross & Co., run by billionaire Wilbur Ross, named U.S. housing finance regulator James B. Lockhart III as vice chairman.

Lockhart, 63, is joining the distressed-investment unit of Atlanta-based Invesco after serving as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and a predecessor agency. He oversaw Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as the mortgage-finance companies emerged from accounting scandals and then headed toward U.S. takeovers in September. Since then, he guided the government- chartered companies amid a record U.S. housing slump.
