Each year, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office lists the most frequent consumer complaints. Traditionally, those complaints are the same — automobile titles and home contractor problems. But as the economy plummeted, his office was faced with fresh complaints.
“Brand new problems this year that are at the top of our list all have to do with the economic foreclosure rescue scams,” he said. “Or more aggressively, if you pay your mortgage to them rather than a mortgage company. Or even more aggressive, if you sign your deed over to them and they take care of everything for you.”
