I was doing some research on loan modifications tonight and went to the HUD.gov website for info I needed. To my amazement, I was redirected from Hud.gov to DisasterHousing.gov. This new website looks similar, but with a new smorgasbord of choices from refinancing your home, saving your home from foreclosure or buying a home from HUD.

This new domain name and look signals to me a change in how the government does business online. It seems like the look is to be less “governmenty” and it appears like they are marketing real estate and mortgages like the private sector.
