Bay County’s foreclosure problem isn’t as big as in large urban areas in Detroit or Flint.
But for the 1,000 or so sites around the county, Bay County officials are hoping a newly formed land bank can stop the problem from growing.
“At first it was always big urban counties that had land banks,” said Bay County Treasurer Richard Brzezinski. “But then small counties started forming them, and we said, you could be smaller and just have that tool in place.”
