Curtis Melone & Christopher Fox: California Bar Takes Over Loan Mod Mob Files

by Moe Bedard · 26 comments

in scams

Where do I begin with this sinister group of  Orange County, California mortgage brokers who wreaked havoc on homeowners across the nation from 2008-2009?  The OC mortgage outlaws are known as Curtis Melone and Christopher Fox who operated a cluster of illegal loan modification companies like Green Credit Solutions, Green Credit Law Center, Guardian Credit Services, Get My Credit Grade, New Century Solutions, Pac West Funding, Erickson Law Group and last but I am sure not least, Magus Global. It seems like every month these mortgage magicians pulled a new loan mod rabbit out of the DBA hat.

This past week the California Bar filed an Order to Show Cause and other Interim Orders over the unauthorized law practices of Curtis Melone and Christopher Cox. The Order was filed with with Superior Court of California in Santa Ana. The date of the hearing is set for January 13, 2010 at 1:30 PM and Department 31. I urge all homeowners affected by the actions of these individuals to attend this hearing.

The Order also freezes all bank accounts and assets of Melone and Fox.

My predictions are that these two guys see jail time in 2010. What do you all think?

I think they should!

+1 for jail time

Curt tried to get his PacWest bank account unfrozen this morning.

Didn’t happen.

That doesn’t surprise me. Greed is a disease.

What amazes me is that this cocky crew kept defying the law and disrespected all legal authorities who told them to shut down. I am sure they may have had good intentions at one time, but they knew this business was dead after the laws came into affect in late 2008 when Federal and State authorities made it clear after much confusion that no one but attorneys can operate a loan mod business. Now, they will be in much worse trouble and so will all the homeowners who are unfortunate to be trapped in this mess.

Curt should not get any money, he has been stealing for years from people. I am for some serious jail time.

Great job Moe. You called this right from the beginning and have withstood attacks from GCS supporters such as Martin Andelman and Steve at MFI.

Andelman, MLI, and MFI chose to attack your character rather than do accurate research that could have helped protect consumers. You still don’t see them reporting the truth about GCS. This only goes to show that you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool everyone all of time. I’d at least like to see some accountability from these individuals in the way of a public acknowledgement.

I think this will end up being much bigger than anyone realizes given Erickson’s background in investments. Erickson was named as a defendant in a shareholder case against Accredited. The officers and directors of Accredited were accused of SEC violations. That case recently settled for $22 M. However, if you check out San Diego court filings against Erickson, you will find a case against him involving over $700k in losses to the injured party.

I found and read numerous investment offerings on Erickson’s website that were not password protected. The offerings were for about $5m each. Green Credit Capital’s website also listed multiple LLC opportunities in similar format to Erickson’s site. One of the LLC investment opportunities posted on Erickson’s site showed as site content for Green Credit under a Google search of Green Credit Capital. Based on the number of LLC opportunities that were listed on their combined websites, they could have raised between $50,000,000 to $100,000,000. If the investments go bad, they could be looking at jail time.

Check out the case in San Diego and the current GCS issues on trust funds, and tell me it doesn’t make the hairs on the back of your neck stick up.

Someone need to look into their debt settlement that is still running too.

Interesting… came across our family name ‘Kubat’ and was surprised to find this out about Curtis… here is the link we found to the court document.

http://s3.amazonaws.com/iehi-ad-images/GREEN-CREDIT-ORDER.pdf

He recently vacationed in Italy for 3 weeks… may have some ‘bank’ set up. Also has accounts in Guatamala… watch out for Chris, and Cris. Oh… and LaRuffa is a known idiot.

Damac as a company is not involved in any fashion.

Curtis Melone and Christopher Fox (just for SEO status, let’s say Curt Melone and Chris Fox) have not only caused hundreds of home owners untold grief, but screwed many affiliates out of (what I have added up) hundreds of thousands of dollars… don’t be afraid to publish this… documented info!

Perhaps millions in untold losses of homes from people that PAID for assistance AFTEWR the June 26th D&R. I do believe that enough info is in place that Curt and Chris have 3 square meals per day for a number of years.

Yo Curt! Yes… every document I have is open for inspection… Happy new year. Anyone who needs some documents, if I have them can request them from MOE… he knows how to contact me.

I did some searches on your name Curt Melone, and it looks like your family has come out and also chastised you pubically…

That being Frank, and Arlene Kubat… and Damac Company I think I saw. Even Ed Kubat wants to bite your ankle.

Stay tuned… how many victims want to know Curt and Chris’s personal home addresses? I saw someone posted their cell phones, and they WERE correct at the time.

10 Chris January 7, 2010 at 1:19 pm

My parents are getting their debt settlement done through erikson law group. I use to refer business to Guardian through its marketing arm HLP/Emerge Financial Advisors. It appear that was a mistake on my end. Hopefully I didn’t just cost my parents 4 months of service fees.

Fuck.

11 Randall January 8, 2010 at 12:48 am

Chris… Your parents ‘WERE’ getting that done. The files and bank accounts have been seized by the State Bar of California.

Please have them call the State Bar at 213-765-17 to get back the file… but also know the bank accounts have been frozen, so there may not be much relief there.

I have heard there could be as much as $150 thousand dollars per month being funneled through Global and Lifeline into the hands of Chris and Curt regardless of the accounts being frozen… They can redirect the money anyplace they want.

The State Bar did not have the authority to lock the GCS doors, or stop them from ordering phones through another company…

I really have to smile at how the California system is letting them play… Regulators in California have few teeth left, and GCS knows this. Here’s an example: the court order filed Dec. 21, 2009 (noted above in a previous link) authorized a Gov’t. Agency to shut down their web sites. At the time of posting this missive, they are still alive, over 2 weeks later! Go figure. Why ASK to shut them down if you don’t do it! Duh!

Curt said to my face once “They’re idiots.”

12 Krista Railey January 10, 2010 at 10:54 am

Randall, its hard for any regulatory agency to stop a sociopath. The only way to stop someone who is truly intent on breaking the law is jail. Another way to stop con men is for bloggers and the media to expose them. I am still waiting for the expose’ on ML Implode.

What I’m curious about is their “investment” offerings. I’ve found several websites involving Erickson and Dague. Considering the issues with GCS and the handling of trust funds and other issues, and the suits against Erickson, these are valid concerns. I don’t see where an investigation is being launched by the CA DOC Securities Division, but I did recently access the prospectus for 5 investments with a face value of $50M. I’ve found prior investment offerings on one of Erickson and Dague’s website that referenced an LLC that showed up in the comments for Green Credit Capital via Google search.

What is going on with their multiple sites and offerings? What other affiliated businesses are there are how deep is the layering of various companies and websites?

13 Krista Railey January 11, 2010 at 10:41 am

Found another website for Mandelman Matter’s with a banner ad for Getmycreditgrade.com. Check it out:

http://matters4mandelman.com/

I don’t know how Martin Andelman can sleep at night after promoting the firm after the DRE issued a D & R order and knowing that clients could not get refunds. Why is the banner still on the site and why was it there in the first place KNOWING THE ISSUES?

Its time that bloggers and media sources that promoted the company speak up and tell the truth. Stop enabling illegal firms to take advantage of homeowners and consumers.

Man up already!

14 F-u all January 15, 2010 at 8:38 pm

You all are lame. You know nothing about Curtis Melone at all. I have known him for many, many years. Why don’t you do some work instead of wasting you time by posting nonsensical garbage about people? Randall are you some kind of creep that likes to know where people live and follow them. Sounds like you like to stalk a wee bit.

15 Moe Bedard January 15, 2010 at 8:49 pm

F U ALL, you must be in complete denial. A person who does not read the facts and only wants to believe what they want to belive based on illusions of reality. News flash, Mr. Melone is is neck deep in what appears to be blatant and legitimate fraud. I didn’t create this business of deception, he did.

Now, tell me how I can think any different with the evidence provided by dozens of victims of Curtis Melone? Are they imaginary characters or are you?

16 Randall January 15, 2010 at 8:57 pm

It’s not that nonsensical ‘F-u all’ as I currently have over $100,000 well documented that he owes me, and a couple of others. There is nothing creepy about tracking down your money. I asked politely at one point.

Now I do admit to getting a little pissed. I will do my best not to get mad… wouldn’t want that to happen now would we?

Frankly, what I would like to see is Curt and Chris allowed to face about 50 or more of the people that have lost or are in the process of losing their homes… and I look forward to seeing them wet their pants.

On another point… i have spent many hours and meals with Curt, and trusted him, so you obviously are correct… i knew nothing about him, did I?

18 Moe Bedard January 18, 2010 at 7:41 am

Make sure you contact the California BAR and the Orange County DA.

19 Randall January 23, 2010 at 10:14 pm

One of the companies named in the Orange County Superior Court Orders has already re-opened.

Magus Global can now be found at: http://www.gomagus.com

Why? Do you think they A) find this fun, or B) are really that dumb?

20 Moe Bedard January 24, 2010 at 8:41 am

I pick B.

21 billy January 26, 2010 at 3:21 pm

theres another company already opened as well, cant remember the name but i will try to find out

22 Randall January 29, 2010 at 11:50 pm

Chris Fox (Christopher Fox) is now selling the chairs they got from the First Franklin offices (they got them for free). They ARE a great deal, but don’t pay more than $200 each… Herman Miller Aeron chairs… I have one myself… Chris and Curt have over 100 of them.

Frankly, I don’t understand how the CA Bar can take over the bank accounts and offices and stuff, and then let them sell over $30,000 worth of office chairs and cubes to the public… why not give refunds Chris? YO! You have over 100 cube work stations! Take care of your clients!!!

Hell! Give the clients the furniture!!!!

Curtis Melone is currently looking for other employment opportunities… he’s short, but he’s a fighter.

Hmmmm… not likely to happen Curt if anyone was to Google that name. Employers: I suggest you let him be a consultant on your next loan or financial project. Consultant… Curtis Melone… SEO… yes.

Curt… here’s some notice: Jerry Brown will most likely run for Gov in the next election… You and Chris are worth 30,000 votes at least… generally considered the margin of victory…

So now you can see you have acheived importance. Yes… i do know some things.

23 Randall February 8, 2010 at 2:48 pm

For those of you trying to follow the assets of Curt Melone and Chris Fox (in the hopes of recovery at some point), here comes a new entity: Welcome to Contact Center… (at crmlogic.net)

We know that the Court ordered the takeover of PacWest Funding Inc., and the Court also gave the California Bar the authority to shut down the web site(s). The web site for PacWest Funding (www.pwfinc.com) was never shut down. One of the ‘doors’ to the site was http://debt.pwfinc.com. A visitor to this site is now automatically redirected to “Contact Center” at http://crmlogic.net.

Try it yourself: Go to http://debt.pwfinc.com — poof there you are! — Contact Center.

Chris (Christopher Fox) and Curt (Curtis Melone) created their own CRM solution called ‘Leads2Green’ for a while. This was used internally for managing the Loan Modification and Debt Consolidation pipeline. I understand that this software system was in part created or controlled by a company called ThinkLogic (www.thinklogic.net). They tried to market it at one point:

“Our Leads2Green CRM will give our brokers the ability to manage leads, perform calculations and execute contracts directly with our national attorney network. This is a turn-key solutions form..from lead to submission.”

Curt must be paying his bills somehow, because Chris Adams of ThinkLogic tells me they are still hosting the PacWest Funding Inc. web address (http://www.pwfinc.com). Most importantly, http://www.pwfinc.com is the main email system, handled by Appriver.com.

What’s the point of all this? Some people in the future should know WHO they are doing business with, and some people in the past will want to follow the assets should there be some convictions and fines coming.

24 fred February 11, 2010 at 11:02 pm

So does anyone have info on http://www.EmergeFinancialAdvisors.com
Are they linked to all this somehow?

25 DD90023 February 28, 2010 at 9:13 am

Their entire outfit is a sham and a scam. Their entire group are for the most part nothing but a bunch of crooks and they scammed me of my money while smiling at me. But sometimes people really make the wrong people mad. I have been in contact with some news agencies who are looking into them and will expose them for the criminals that they are. They have burned so many people that at some point they burned some of the wrong people.

Look for them to be in everyone’s living room very soon, I am told by summer. Get your popcorn ready.

26 Daniele March 3, 2010 at 6:53 pm

DD90023…sounds great…I am another person that is about to show them they have another thing coming…I have taken this on as a full time job in addition to my full time job and masters program…we are gonna blow this whole thing wide open!! Baad people they are!!! cant wait to see them suffer
