When the heat is on in the loan modification scam game, you simply change your name and move to a new part of town. This is the MO of the illusive cockbroker who was once a mortgage broker and now is a full time financial predator.
Simply put, many have now resorted to a life of crime to pay their BMW’s and narcissistic lifestyles. Others are doing it just to survive since the only skill they have is in the mortgage sales arena and now they just morph that skill into the mortgage, credit and debt scam business as full time crooks.
The BBB has received hundreds of complaints about these kinds of companies this year. People paying money to someone who is going to help them with their loan and it doesn’t come through for them,” says Zajac.
In the case of Truman Foreclosure Assistance, the Florida Attorney General’s office says it received 68 complaints in the past two years against the company, resulting in action by the Federal Trade Commission.

“We see that pretty frequently, but as long as we know where to look and that could be through media reports, consumer complaints, we can follow that train and we have done so successfully,” says Sandy Copes of the Attorney General’s office.
