Ohio Real Estate Scammer, Joe McClain Faces 40 Years Behind Bars

“The money was used to pay his personal bills, including car payments on a Humvee and an Escalade,” said Duke Frost, the assistant county prosecutor.

NEWARK, Ohio — A Newark man faces nearly 40 years in prison after admitting on Tuesday to a scam that stole thousands of dollars from dozens of families, including his own.

Joe McClain, 31, told investors that they would make a profit with property he would fix and sell but never did, 10TV’s Angela An reported.

Twenty-five of McClain’s victims sat behind him in court.  Each of them lost $10,000-$250,000 in the scam that affected many people in Licking County, An reported.
