ATLANTA — A new lender has foreclosed a massive shelter that houses hundreds of Atlanta homeless each night.
Bob Cramer, chairman of the board Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, confirmed Wednesday that the group had received a foreclosure notice this week on its shelter at Peachtree and Pine streets. Officials have a month to come up with more than $500,000 to pay off the overdue loans.
The shelter normally houses 700 homeless each night.
