Craigslist rental scam almost takes disabled veteran as a victim

He’s frustrated and he’s angry and that’s not a good place for the 30-year-old disabled Army veteran to be. After suffering a traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan in 2001, Scott Frazier and his wife, Jennifer, were just trying to get their lives back to normal when they were almost victimized by fraud through an online house rental listing on Craigslist.

The Fraziers have used Craigslist and eBay extensively in the past, so it felt normal to start looking on those sites for a house to rent in La Crosse. They are currently living in Onalaska and wanted to be closer to their activities in La Crosse and save money on commuting costs. 

Disabled Army veteran Scott Frazier and his wife, Jennifer, recently came close to being defrauded of hundreds of dollars when a Craigslist online house rental offer turned out to be a scam.
