ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI – FOX2now.com) – The foreclosure crisis has hiit a north county family hard. They owe the bank and they were scammed trying to modify their mortgage loan. The family says they are doing everything possible to save their home. Unfortunately they went to the wrong people for help.
Erma and William Dupree called Contact 2 to tell us they could lose the house they’ve lived in for the past 22 years. Financial hardship made them contact a California based company after seeing an ad on television.
The promise was a lower mortgage payment in return for a thousand dollars up front and the rest of the balance within thirty days.
The duprees paid $3000 dollars to the ‘Federal Loan Modification Law Firm’ in January 2009. A few months later they realized something was terribly wrong.
