Tammy Ravenstein is a single mother of two children who needed help with her mortgage.
“I wanted to take advantage of something that was out there that other people were getting,” Ravenstein said.
That’s when Ravenstein turned to the Home Affordable Mortgage Program that was created by the federal government in March of 2009 to help millions of Americans who are struggling with their mortgage.
She first called her lender, Bank of America, for help, but after 241 days, Ravenstein says the process remains in limbo.
“You talk with somebody and they say they will call you back and they never call you back. You can never speak with the same person,” said Ravenstein.

I am in the same situation, i applied first in Dec 09 and keep getting letters saying they need more income, I dont understand how they can do this to so many people, when we really need the help
We tried for 10 months to get our loan modification done. All the while Chase kept requesting new documents and eventually made us reapply then declinedour loan due to the fact we havent been late in two years. We are struggling had to borrow money to make the mortgage payment. where is the money the government gave them money to help poeple like us and where is this money going? I dont see people getting help, I see many people saying what I am that Chase did nothing but give them the runaround, Many still losing there house. We went and saw a lady (Angela Silva) Tukwila Washington office to told us we met all the criteria and she had us do a whole new application process so they could not say anything was missing that was the point where chase declined us saying we dont qulalify. We currently have a FHA Mortgage and just wanted to do a streamline, Chase couldnt even do that. We where one of millions that had a predatory lender do our loan Thank you PC bank for giving us back our money that he stole from us. Now if only we could get this modification done so we to can breathe easier in this economy…..
