2010 has been a stressful year for the Petrowiak family of Fairmont. At the end of last year, they began to process of modifying their high interest home loan. After seeing an ad in the local paper, they contacted the 1st American Law Center out of Oceanside, California.
“He called back and said everything is great. He said you guys qualify. Cause right now we have a 7.9 % interest rate. He said we could get you down to 5 no problem,” says Mike Petrowiak. “That’s kind of a standard.”
But the Petrowiaks say, in order to get the ball rolling, 1st American required an up front fee.
“$3500. That’s what we put up. 35-hundred. They said that’s what they needed up front to start the process…”
And more than half a year later, they still haven’t seen anything.

This was online 9+ months ago and since then, hundreds of THOUSANDS of dollars have been stolen and thousands of people have been ripped off!

My husband and I are also having a very difficult time with 1st american law center in oceaside CA We have paid them over 2,000 and still we are not getting any response from them. I do know that our lender has received our application and it,s in review. So it appears they are doing something. I have been on the phone and e-mail trying to contact these people. I get know answer and now I have called every number and every extention left messages when able, but now it tells me I’m sorry this mail box is full. So now what
For those who haven’t heard the FBI raided the firm June 24th and seized all of the assets. If you paid them up front they are in violation of Calif State Law. First American Law Center closed it’s doors after the raid. Dean Chandler just recently joined with another group and is now going under the name First National Law Group out of Carlsbad Ca. As info comes up about what is going on with the FBI investigation myself and about 25 other potential victims send out information.
We have a similar story about first American law, except they also tried to force us to sign the hope forms and quit paying our mortgage. We refused and were under investigation before they would give us our refund, they claimed we gave them false information. Then they were raided. Not sure what to do from here. If anyone has more info or advise please post it I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling lost here.
