Don’t give up on mortgage help

In light of all the foreclosures, a program was developed by the Obama administration, called Hope Now and Making Homes Affordable. This was started in the spring of 2009. We heard about the program on a news show. I see that you also have it listed in one of the P-B’s “Your Money” columns. I think this is a scam. We applied in April 2009 and spent three months filling out forms and sending copies of documents to designated financial sites.

In April 2010, they sent us another letter after we requested an update. We sent more documentation, certified mail with return receipt requested. No matter how many times we call and try to talk to customer service, we get the runaround for an hour or more, they tell us they still need more information, but won’t tell us what the information is, and then we get “disconnected.”

I can’t believe that we are the only people in Rochester that has tried to apply for this program. I was wondering if you could help get us connect with a customer service person and if anyone else in Rochester has had any luck with this program. — June
