A single mother who has held a couple of yard sales at her Tilden Avenue home in an attempt to stave off foreclosure is on her way to meeting her goal.
Karen Simmons-Braswell at a yard sale this month at her Teaneck home, which is facing foreclosure. Her yard sales have produced job leads as well as cash.
As of Thursday, Karen Simmons-Braswell said she has raised $8,831 through the sale of items at yard sales held over two weekends this month and the receipt of donated funds.
“I’m grateful to God first and thankful to all of the people who God moved upon their hearts and allowed them to give,” she said. “People were really very generous.”
