Last week, I received a news release from the state Attorney General’s Office on how it and a group of other state attorneys general and banking regulators say they’ve seen improvements in programs designed to help homeowners.
Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna said, according to a study, that the newer modifications are holding up better, with fewer borrowers redefaulting.
That’s nice, but the fact remains that most consumers have problems getting a loan modification or completing a short sale.
A member of my family is trying to do a short sale. It’s painful. Like many people, they’ve had trouble finding anyone at the lending institution that will talk to them or return their phone calls.

We tried for 10 months to get our loan modification done. All the while Chase kept requesting new documents and eventually made us re apply then declined our loan due to the fact we havent been late in two years.
We are struggling had to borrow money to make the mortgage payments. where is the money the government gave them money to help poeple like us and where is this money going really? I dont see people getting help,
I see many people saying what I am, that Chase did nothing but give them the runaround, Many still losing there house. We went and saw a lady (Angela Silva) Tukwila Washington office who told us we met all
the criteria and she had us do a whole new application process so they could not say anything was missing she faxed it even said she would stay by our side til we got approved that was the point where chase declined us saying we dont qulalify, Now she wont return our calls and cant be reached. We currently have a FHA Mortgage
and just wanted to do a streamline, To lower our intrest rate, Chase couldnt even do that. We where one of millions that had a predatory lender do our current mortgage Thank you PC bank for giving us back our money that he stole from us.
Now if only we could get this modification or streamline done so we to can breathe easier in this economy…..
