“We know there are other victims out there,” San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney James Lewis said Wednesday. “We are receiving additional complaints.”
The three defendants are Juan Casas, 26, of Stockton; Tristan Mireles, 29, of Stockton; and Caleb Pascua, 27, of Elk Grove. Four others are named in the complaint, but Lewis said he suspects the three of heading the operation.
They also are charged with elder abuse, operating without a real estate license and grand theft.
The complaint alleges that the individuals or couples seeking a loan modification each paid the defendants as much as $4,800 for assistance. The defendants didn’t fulfill their promise in some cases, drawing felony grand theft charges.
The Stockton-based companies they operated were Family First Modification Group, Home Care Mortgage Solutions, Lakeview Servicing and US Loan Specialists.
