(Source: Bloomberg BusinessWeek By PALLAVI GOGOI) – Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley said on Monday that she will not sign on to any agreement between attorneys general and the big banks if it includes releasing them from future liability related to mortgage securitization.Coakley’s stance throws a wrench into a settlement that has been in the works for weeks between attorneys general in all 50 states and banks for weeks. Coakley and several other attorneys general believe such a release would hamper their investigation into banks’ mortgage practices.
